Imports of consumer goods and intermediate inputs (raw materials) make up for most of the total imports, accounting for almost 56%. These are followed by fuels and lubricants (30.1%), transport equipment (7.2%) and capital goods (6.1%). In 2012, the European Union remained the main source of supply of goods to Cyprus, with a share of 68% of total imports/arrivals. Major suppliers within the Union were Greece (21.2%), Italy (8.2%), the United Kingdom (7.2%), Germany (7%) and Netherlands (6.6%), and from third countries, Israel was Cyprus’ best supplier accounting for 11.8%.
